PUD BOARD MEETING MINUTES

February 16, 2017

Board meeting called to order at 5:31 pm by Mike Elmore.

PRESENT: Mike Elmore, Ralph Browning, Rod Peterson, Marla Skroch, Wendy Shoptaw, Jeb Miller, Ben Beseda and Andrew Myers.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES AND AGENDA: Minutes were approved as presented. GUESTS: None

PUBLIC COMMENTS: None

ENGINEER OF RECORD REPORT: Discussion items:

  1. City Site Team Meeting: No PUD Projects were on the last meeting agenda. Meetings have been taking place regularly with full and partial agendas.
  2. 6th and Snipes Street Hotel: The owner is working on construction bids. No timetables yet for resumption of work on site or building permit application.
  3. ODOT Old Highway 30 New Chenowith Creek Bridge Project: The design plans and specifications have been completed and submitted in final form to ODOT. Tenneson’ s work on this is completed until the bid period starts. The project is set to advertise in mid-April. Our final engineers estimate was $88,782 up slightly from our previous estimate of $87,280. ODOT will make a final review of this number prior to invoicing the PUD for the anticipated work. There is potential for the final estimate to float up and down. Final cost will be per the low bid received.
  4. No other new projects have come up within the PUD.

FINANCIAL REPORTS: No comments.

DISTRICT MANAGER’S REPORT: Jeb Miller presented his District Manager’s Report: Contact from The Dalles City Police and wanted to know if they could use our reservoir sites for radio antenna’s to better the communication on the West side of The Dalles. Jeb told them he would bring it up to the Board and get back to them with some answers. The new meters had arrived on February 16, 2017. Jeb said he would be getting the crew prepared for meter installation. Right now the crew is turning valves and waiting for the weather to clear up.

That concluded the District Manager’s report.

OLD BUSINESS: None.

NEW BUSINESS: Waiting to swear in Wendy Shoptaw for the next on March 21, 2017.

TRAINING CLASSES AND SEMINARS: Ralph Browning attended the Annual SDAO Conference and really enjoyed it. Brenton Adams didn’t pass his Water 1 test and will be taking it again. Jeb said that no one will be attending Sunriver for the Annual OAWU conference.
