Elgato Stream Deck Pedal. Rate now. Review guidelines. The most capable mini desktop controller so far. Pros LED-collar pots are not very common in backpack-sized controlles, but does it’s job well and really helpful to make small adjustments on the fly and not get lost among patches and tracks pre-sets.

While not used very often after initial setup and not a big deal, it’s still a shame for a good product with creative folks in mind. Programming Logic is ready to go out of the box with no adjustments at all. While many of “full sized” Mackie Control functions can be reached in need, actually using them blindly without “big brother” LCD screen can be tricky, except you already know all of them by heart.

Using basic functions such panning, muting, soloing and navigating track marks is as simple as it can be. MainStage takes some time to assign knobs and buttons for live patches, but finally can be tailored as much as you bother to think about. Another cool feature, controller can be switched from Mackie mode to User mode externally, which let you program assignable button to instantly activate Logic app to scroll through the track or adjust some track channel strips, and switch back to instrument controls without need to reach your computer controls!

Active knobs and buttons for MC and User modes remembered separately, so they remains as they were when switching from one mode to another and back.

All in all, this small gadget does way more then can be expected from portable controller and quite handy for rehearsals or even live sessions whether you feel like less reverb or more modulation is appropriate. For studio work, however, the preference is on studio sized LCD text consoles. Report Do you believe this rating to be inaccurate or unacceptable for some reason? Good controller for specific use cases. Bought two X-Touch minis cause seemed to be just what we needed so our 2 guitarists could have their own FX board in our live electronica setup. I was looking into using the MC mode but it’s not really scalable as you can only control devices of one single track in Ableton – and they also sing and play keys and need to control more than 1 track.

There are some painful and bit technical ways to workaround plus you need some desktop app — only for Windows :O. So I ended up linking all midi manually.

Apr 03,  · Purchased and connected a Behringer X-touch Compact control surface to new (M1 chip) Mac Mini. The X-touch Compact is recognized in Audio Midi Setup, and it appears in Logic preferences > MIDI > Inputs, but does not appear in the control surface setup window in Logic, in either standard mode or Mackie mode.

Hi All – Hope you’re all well. Recently I bought an x touch universal Control I read and seen on youtube that it’s suppose to work pretty much as is out of the box with LPX. I’m still trying to understand everything, but the one question I have is has anyone else got this combo? At the moment the Modify buttons aren’t working for me. Has anyone had this issue. If so has anyone got a resolution for it, or even advice on how I could debug the problem.

I’m also interested to know if other people don’t have this issue. I’m currently running LPX I have also updated to the latest firmware on the x touch. Any help would be gratefully appreciated, Thanks in advance, Charles. My Studio. Try to locate an earlier version of the manual in PDF, read the introductory chapters along with the Mackie Control chapter.

Try each of the commands to see how they behave. I have been happily using my X-Touch with Logic for over 4 years. I get better at it, and learn new things all the time. For instance if I hold down the alt key it will allow me to copy an element from one track to the other.

But the button won’t. I’m not clear when those descriptions above actually mean. Please tell me I’m being an idiot and explain how they can. Hi – Thanks for your response and your patience. Slight change to my workflow I guess Lots of reading ahead :- Thanks, Charles. To dive a little deeper, I decided to work through the Mackie Control section of the Logic Control Manual, especially the charts beginning on page I have only encountered one thing that does not seem to work on the X-Touch as described in the manual.

It is also not really a big deal if it does not because there are other ways of doing the same thing. This is more about verifying what works as described in the manual on the X-Touch. First thing I want to check is, is this correct? It does not work. So, I tried the same sequence but without pressing the Option button, and it still does not work.

Both procedures simply turn the solo on and off. This would actually be pretty handy, if it worked. Has anybody managed to get this to work? Am I doing something wrong in the sequence of button presses? Thanks in advance. Thanks for providing the answer to the real question. I have been working to understand my X-Touch since day one, and each day I get a little better at it.

At some point I want to be able to mix entire songs without ever looking at the screen and only using the control surface and an attached keyboard I have as many versions of the manual that I can find including the original Logic Control manual – things disappear between versions. I am working towards the same goal, which is why I am going through the manual explore all the functions. This forum and people helping each other is great way to achieve that goal.

Thanks again. On another note, I really like the X-Touch, and I think it will really the number of times I have to reach for the mouse. Input Monitoring “I”. I am just thinking about the Input Monitoring “I” button on all tracks. I am a bit scared I would have to use the mouse for this, which seems a bit of a downer. Humbly, Ylan.
